I was thinking tonight, while watching a soccer news update, about how I never watched soccer before Gannon started playing. Now I love to watch soccer, on TV and live. I think it is just the constant fast pace of the game and it’s mix of finesse and rough play.

I can’t say that for other sports except MMA.

So below is my breakdown of the three popular sports in the U.S. and if I would prefer to watch them in person or on TV.

Baseball – Would rather watch paint dry than to watch it on TV, but don’t mind watching a good little league or high school game in person.

Football – Would rather watch on TV than in person.

Basketball – Would prefer to skip the first 3 quarters on TV and just watch the last quarter. However, watching a good ole Indiana High School game in person is something I could enjoy.

I was reading a blog today by a friend I meet online, Libby Baker Sweiger, and I think everyone should read it. It will only take you a few seconds, but it will put things in perspective. Libby has been through a lot over the last couple of years, but she still maintains a very positive and uplifting attitude about life.

Why is it such a big deal to make anyone, who is stopped by law enforcement, to show identification?

Why is it such a big deal for potential or current enmployers to ask for proof of identification?

If EVERYONE is asked to provide identification then it is not discriminatory, not racial profiling and as far as I can tell is constitutional.

Immigration is what has kept new blood, new ideas flowing into our country and is what makes us unique. However we must face fact that there are some bad people coming across the borders, both the southern and northern borders.

Lesson 6
A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird
froze and fell to the ground into a large field.
While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.
As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to
realize how warm he was.

The dung was actually thawing him out!
He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.
A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.
Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow
dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of the story:
(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your
friend.
(3) And when you’re in deep shit, it’s best to keep
your mouth shut!
