Work, Brazilian Soccer Club, Defiant Child and Blogs
This week was somewhat pleasant at work, if work can even be considered pleasant. I did have some late evenings but it was nothing real crazy. Getting home after dark is nothing new and may actually happen some more over the next month. The boss is out for a month on vacation, but he is staying in touch via e-mail so my workload hasn’t increased all that much, but enough to keep me going 100 mph around the office. The one thing that does increase is the meetings. Drives me bonkers! The office has been enjoyable, Marines are staying out of trouble for the most part, which is a wonderful change. The civilians we have working with us are some great people as well and I hope they can stick around for a while (most are under a short term contract). PT’d the Marines Friday morning. Learned two things:
1.)They need to get in better shape
2.)I am sore this weekend from proving #1
Gannon has been going hard and heavy at the Brazilian Soccer Club camp this week. They extended the camp into Saturday so the coach could observe the campers against his team, a tryout of sorts. Gannon was approached by the coach afterwards that he was selected for a month trial with the team!!!!! Gannon is learning so much more about the game from this coach and the coach doesn’t even speak English during practice. He uses an interpretor The coach was a professional player in Brazil so he knows what the heck he is talking about. The Brazilian club is sort of like what is referred to as a classic soccer team in the States. Well, Congrats Gannon! We are proud!
Gavin has been a pill this week for his mom. He is in that challenging stage where he defies to see how far he can go before there is punishment. It is driving his mom into a sanitarium I think. He also likes to wear his new blue rain boots everywhere. He used to do this with a pair of red rain boots as well before they fell apart. Not sure what the fetish is with rain boots, but I hope it doesn’t carry over into adulthood or we may run into some problems.
Still updating some websites with new software and it is painful. I have a few I am not going to even bother upgrading as they no longer get good traffic, so I will more than likely let the domains expire and let them die and then delete them from my hosting account. I should be posting a good update to http://brochin.net/blog this Sunday and wrapping up the series on Anti-Spyware.
