Family Time Fun and NASCAR Stinks

What a title for this weeks post, eh?
Well, that about sums up my week or the last two weeks since my last post.
We had a nice family outing on Saturday the 23rd. Bowling was the name of the game and it was entertaining to say the least. Gavin is still in the process of getting the potty thing done and still has accidents. He decided to have one of these accidents while we where bowling. No big deal as I am not a bowler, in fact when I bowl it is more like a shot putter throwing a ball on a wooden field. Most folks will turn their head when I let a bowling ball loose down the isle. Imagine Shrek bowling…nuff said!
We spent most of the day Sunday horsing around on the computer and the house that weekend. Gannon was supposed to have two games on this weekend 23-24, but Saturday’s game was cancelled because of the rain the night before and the “poor” condition of the field. Funny thing is that that field is the only one in the league that had games cancelled. Not sure why they couldn’t try to squeeze them in at another field. There game Sunday was a go and they played terribly the first half, but played a little better after the half and pulled out the win 3-1.
Of course the NASCAR race was delayed and needless to say, I didn’t care. That makes me think, if it is “needless to say” why do we say it? Not sure…anyway…
This weekend brought another wonderful time with the family. Saturday (1 Mar) we visited the Onslow County Museum and Lynwood Park Zoo, which is a small private zoo. The Onslow County Museum is a small museum that is attached to the library. It is small, but it is a must visit for any new resident that wants to learn about the history of their new home. The Linwood Park Zoo as a step up from a petting zoo. They had baboons and Scottish Highland Cows along with various South American animals. They even had Wallabies. It has been too cold for the reptiles so those where not on display, however the care taker was AWESOME. He stopped us along the trail and pulled some of the newborn animals out for our kids to pet, to include a large tortoise. Gavin didn’t care too much for the tortoise however. We ended the day with a late lunch at Fuddruckers.
Today it looks like we may be getting on the Nintendo Wii bandwagon. I will let you know how that runs out. I will be getting out and taking care of some weeds growing around the house. It has been cold enough to kill the grass, but the weeds are thriving and makes the yard look like butt. The likelyhood that I watch a raise is slim to none, especially after hearing about last weeks idiocy from NASCAR. Nascar and baseball, they both need to be done away with and reformed with some better rules and for baseball much lower wages… in my opinion.
