This week was another uninteresting week in the Brochin house. Gannon came down with a small viral infection and missed a day of school. It also kept him out of this weeks cross country meet and a few soccer practices as well. They had a game against an Okinawan team Saturday morning and lost 4-3. It was a very good game though, at least what I was able to see of it (had to work some of the morning). It has been raining a lot lately and the field was all kinds of muddy which I think the kids really liked. It also rained while they played. Miserable for the parents, great time for the kids.

Kim started crying a little tonight. She dropped Gannon off for his first homecoming dance. I don’t feel like crying but I look back and wonder where time has went and wonder if I have spent or am spending enough with the boys.

Gavin is learning so much going to pre-school this year. The extra money to send him in the afternoon as well as the morning is worth it. His social skills are improving so much. The new Transformers II movie was released on DVD and we had to buy it. Gavin loves Transformers. I think I have watched it three times, if not more, since Thursday evening.

As for me, I need to get much smarter at some things like networking and systems administration. So much to learn and so little time. Spend most of my time just managing personnel these days instead of dealing with technical issues.

A blonde and her husband are lying in bed listening to the next door neighbor’s dog.  It has been in the backyard barking for hours and hours.  The blonde jumps up out of bed and says, “I’ve had enough of this.”  She goes downstairs.

The blonde finally comes back up to bed and her husband says “The dog is still barking, what have you been doing?”

Lynn and Jody were doing some carpenter work on a Habitat for Humanity House.   Lynn was nailing down house siding.  She would reach into her nail pouch, pull out a nail and either toss it over her shoulder or nail it in.

Jody, figuring this was worth looking into, asked, “Why are you throwing those nails away?”

Lynn explained, “When I pull a nail out of my pouch, about half of them have the head on the wrong end and I throw them away.”

Jody got completely upset and yelled,  ‘You moron! Those nails aren’t defective! They’re for the other side of the house!”

A blonde hurried into the emergency room late one night with the tip of her index finger shot off. ‘How did this happen?’ the emergency room doctor asked her.

‘Well, I was trying to commit suicide,’ the blonde replied.

‘What?’ sputtered the doctor. ‘You tried to commit suicide by shooting off your finger?’

‘No, Silly’ the blonde said. ‘First I put the gun to my chest, and then I thought, ‘I just paid $6, 000..00 for these implants.  I’m not shooting myself in the chest.’

‘So then?’ asked the doctor.

‘Then I put the gun in my mouth,’ and I thought, ‘I just paid $3,000.00 to get my teeth straightened I’m not shooting myself in the mouth.’

‘So then?’

‘Then I put the gun to my ear,’ and I thought: ‘This is going to make a loud noise. So I put my finger in my other ear before I pulled the trigger.

A blonde was driving home after a game and got caught in a really bad hail storm. Her car was covered with dents, so the next day she took it to a repair shop. The shop owner saw that she was a blonde, so he decided to have some fun…. He told her to go home and blow into the tail pipe really hard, and all the dents would pop out.

So, the blonde went home, got down on her hands and knees and started blowing into her tailpipe. Nothing happened. So she blew a little harder, and still nothing happened.

Her blonde room mate saw her and asked, ‘What are you doing?’ The first blonde told her how the repairman had instructed her to blow into the tail pipe in order to get all the dents to pop out.

The roommate rolled her eyes and said, ‘Uh, like hello!
You need to roll up the windows first.’

A blonde was shopping at Target and came across a shiny silver thermos.  She was quite fascinated by it, so she picked it up and took it to the clerk to ask what it was.

The clerk said, ‘Why, that’s a thermos…… It keeps hot things hot, and cold things cold.’

‘Wow, said the blonde, ‘that’s amazing…I’ m going to buy it!’ So she bought the thermos and took it to work the next day.

Her boss saw it on her desk. ‘What’s that,’ he asked?

‘Why, that’s a thermos….. It keeps hot things hot and cold things cold,’ she replied..

Her boss inquired, ‘What do you have in it?’

The blond replied…. …’Two popsicles and some coffee.’

A blonde goes into work one morning crying her eyes out.

Her boss asked sympathetically, ‘What’s the matter?’

The blonde replies, ‘Early this morning I got a phone call saying that my mother had passed away.’

The boss, feeling sorry for her, says, ‘Why don’t you go home for the day? Take the day off to relax and rest.’

‘Thanks, but I’d be better off here. I need to keep my mind off it and I have the best chance of doing that here.’

The boss agrees and allows the blonde to work as usual. A couple of hours pass and the boss decides to check on the blonde. He looks out from his office and sees the blonde crying hysterically.

‘What’s so bad now? Are you gonna be okay?’ he asks.

‘No!’ exclaims the blonde. ‘I just received a horrible call from my sister. Her mother died, too!’

Last weeks post I mentioned Gannon’s soccer coach may be moving on. Good news is he has decided to stay and I think Gannon is very happy about that. Gannon really seems to like the coach and loves playing for him. They have a soccer game this coming weekend against a team from Naha. Gannon’s cross country meet at OCSI was a good one for his team, but Gannon did not hydrate well before the race and cramps set in quickly. This year is a good year for him as he gets an idea of how doing the basics will go a long way if he continues to run. He is still doing well in school and seems to be excited about going to school everyday. Not sure if it is school he is excited about or all the girls. Either way, doesn’t matter as long as he is in the classroom and making good grades. We love his high school, Kubasaki, and all the opportunities they provide students.

Gavin is really enjoying going to pre-school. He actually attend two, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. He comes home with different stuff everyday and has to rush to the door to show me as soon as I walk in. It is also very enjoyable listening to him sing his little songs that he is taught in school, even though he seems he always decides to sing these at some of the oddest times, like 6am on a Saturday morning. He is really into Transformers and is sitting next to me as I type this post playing with his Optimus Prime toy.

Kim started substitute teaching at the pre-schools and seems to be enjoying it. She received some calls last week to schedule her for some more time. She seems to be enjoying the times she does substitute, I think it breaks up the domestic goddess routine she has. Scentsy has become another little side project for her and once the company starts shipping directly to FPO addresses she will become an affiliate. I love the candles and stuff she gets from Scentsy, they make the house smell great.

Had a short week since we had Monday and Tuesday off for Columbus Day. You would think that would make for a nice week, but in reality it stinks because it gives you only three days to complete the weeks work vice the typical 5 days. Lots of last minute crunch time stuff, which makes Fridays really suck. Finished my third week of the Hal Higdon Advanced 5k training plan. It has been going well. On my easy days I like to throw in some extra time on the elliptical trainer and recumbent bike. I started doing the CrossFit thing, but it has a lot of weighlifting stuff that is very taxing on the lower back. So I did some searching and found a bunch of bodyweight only CrossFit workouts. I will start that this week.
