This week was a great time. Since the boss is gone, I have a few more meetings than usual. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I just love meetings However, they were productive and provided some good thought provoking discussion, especially for some of our real time services initiatives.
Gannon is still sitting on pins and needles waiting for the e-mail from the Brazilian Soccer Club with all the information needed for the team…oops…just as I say this I spoke with the assistant and he said Gannon needs to show up to practice tomorrow.
Yea, people trample down my door to be added to this blog (yea, ok, I’m dreaming again) and Bill Zuckeris no exception, actually I am not even sure he even knows how to pronounce my name. If you haven’t heard his music, you better sit down because you may pass out you will laugh so hard.
I actually have chatted back and forth on Twitter a few times with Bill Zucker before I realized he was the guy with the world reknown “Tarp” song.
Anyway, Bill is a riot, enjoy the plugin I added with his music to the side bar of this blog.
Woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Not sure why, just not in a good mood, which is unusual for me. I am typically a morning person and very lively and easy going in the morning. The bad mood just carried over into the rest of the day to include suffering through the terrible Harry Potter movie I just watched at the theater “The Half Blood Prince”. I loved the Harry Potter series, but this movie really stunk. Wanted to leave halfway through. Even 4 year old Gavin, who is typically captivated at the theater, was bored and started wanting to walk around and do something else.
This week was somewhat pleasant at work, if work can even be considered pleasant. I did have some late evenings but it was nothing real crazy. Getting home after dark is nothing new and may actually happen some more over the next month. The boss is out for a month on vacation, but he is staying in touch via e-mail so my workload hasn’t increased all that much, but enough to keep me going 100 mph around the office. The one thing that does increase is the meetings. Drives me bonkers! The office has been enjoyable, Marines are staying out of trouble for the most part, which is a wonderful change. The civilians we have working with us are some great people as well and I hope they can stick around for a while (most are under a short term contract). PT’d the Marines Friday morning. Learned two things:
1.)They need to get in better shape
2.)I am sore this weekend from proving #1
Well, didn’t make it to the Soloist like we wanted to. We lazied around the house Saturday night. Nothing exciting, if I remember I think we watched a movie.
Sunday was a little more thrilling, we actually went to Kadena air base and shopped at the exchange. Yea, I know, sit down, the blood is rushing to my head as well from all the excitement. Speaking of Kadena air base, check out this freaky little video.
Made it back from my three day travels. I didn’t have hardly anytime to get out and see many places. We would land, eat lunch, go the our meetings/briefings, then break for dinner then bed. The first night, while in Iwakuni, we ate at an Indian restaurant and the food was good. The next night, in Yongsong South Korea, we ate at a Korean BBQ and the food wasn’t bad at all, especially for the price. After the BBQ we took some time to have a few drinks at a place called Helios. Drank a lot of Guinness, but the curfew is at midnight there, so the night ended early.
Typical day, got up early, talked myself into staying in my non-running rut in the mornings. So I drank coffee, checked Facebook and Twitter. Answered some messages, responded to some friends and followers. I drank some more coffee, watched the “news” and checked e-mail.
Kim and Gavin seen me off to work which was the usual day with ups and downs. Went to see a fitness coordinator this afternoon to see if they can give me some routines to take me out of my rut. Got some good ideas I will implement when I get back from my 3 day trip to Iwakuni on the mainland of Japan and then onto Seoul, South Korea.
Spent the better half of Sunday updating some websites and testing some new free anti-spyware. Yea exciting, I know. Just curls your toes doesn’t it?
After getting off from work at around 6pm and eating a wonderful dinner that Kim cooked, I was back at updating some more websites. Yep, my life is that exciting, can you believe it!
Took the family to a local sushi restaurant for lunch on Saturday. We came back and watched the movie “Knowing” starring Nicholas Cage. I then took Kim on a little dinner date at the Garlic House close to Ginowan City.
Sunday, not so exciting, but still fun so far. Took Gavin when I had my haircut and he enjoyed playing with the toys they had at the barber shop. The ladies at the barber shop loved watching him too. They were entertained by his vivid imagination. Now sitting and watching UFC 100 with my oldest, Gannon.
