MySpace Music

It goes without saying, and my online friends know this, I am terrible about posting and staying in touch. Especially on MySpace and Twitter. However, I do log in every now and then to post some stuff and try to read some posts and answer other posts if I have anything worth contributing, whcih usually I do not have anything worth while to add.

One thing I have been making a point to do at MySpace is listen to music of some of my “friends” on MySpace. What I have discovered is that some of these folks really have some good followings online and some have what I feel to be real talent.

Now I am not a guy that sticks with any particular genre. If resembles organized noise, then I consider it music and MAY listen to it and even like it. So I listen to all kinds of music on MySpace. Rap, Heavy Metal, Country, Hip Hop and more. In fact I listen to music like this in the car as well. One moment I may be listening to AC/DC and the next Lester Flatts and Earl Scruggs (Flatts and Scruggs are Bluegrass for those that do not recognize the names… a.k.a. The guys that did the Beverly Hillbillys theme).

So if you have any good recommendations on MySpace, let me know.

Granny’s House

While on leave in transit to Okinawa we stopped in Indiana for about three weeks. While there, almost all our time was spent at Granny’s house. Below are some pictures of the kids and their Grandma putting together a gingerbread house for Christmas.

Photo Journal of Trip to Okinawa

Today I am going to start posting some photos of our transition to Okianwa. It will basically be small posts with photos and captions so everyone can see a little into our journey we had. Once finished, we will be posting even more photos over the next three years as we travel Okinawa and the Far East.

If you have any special requests, such as a sword or cultural statue, then let us know. We will be sending gifts back periodically for family.

So lets start with the intial moving process at the house in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

The picture below is of Gannon (left)  and Gavin (right), after the furniture was picked up by the movers and the house was empty.

The next two photos are of Gavin playing in the empty cabinets. I think this kid may be proof that we could be descended from apes.

Finally in Okinawa

So after about a month living out of suitcases, we have finally arrived in Okinawa. We made it in the evening of the 30th. We are 14 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time in the U.S. The time change is still requiring some adjustments. I am currently typing this at 0330 and have already been up for an hour.

After leaving Indiana we took a trip through Tennessee to visit with Kim’s mom, dad and brother’s family. We spent Christmas with them and it was enjoyable. We traveled to Raleigh-Durham Airport the next day and flew out of there on the 27th, thorugh Chicago and onto Seattle that evening.

In Seattle we had a 24 plus hour layover and it worked out well that Kim’s Aunt lives there. We have always been wanting to visit her Aunt, but either money or time was a factor that prevented it from happening. Her Aunt, Uncle and their daughters were fabulous. We had an opportunity to visit the Space Needle in Seattle, eat on the water front and then a great dinner at their house. We really hope we have an opportunity to make it back there many more times.

We will have some photos posted soon from our journey. Thanks everyone for your support while we have been in this transitional stage.
