Archive for November, 2008

I finally finished the homepage and other internal pages for Brochin.net. I still have several tweaks, but the site is almost fully functional. The cost comparison calculators work, the members area is working which contains the e-books, software and web templates and tutorials. The article directory is also functional and of course the blog.

The only thing left to finish is the Expert forum in the members area. Still working on design, layout and functionality as well as recruiting the experts who are willing to share some of the expertise and time for free.

Osama, Obama and Yo Mama

A co-worker told me this joke the other day and I swear I had never heard it….this is stinking funny.
Not sure if it is really true or not and couldn’t find anythingon Snopes, but I honestly doubt it is….then again, knowing some of the people I know, it could be true…

The 24th of November is the magic number. That is when I detach here and the family heads to Tennessee and Indiana on leave before heading to Okinawa for 3 years. We have already sold the Ford Explorer this weekend and all the planets seem to be aligned since we had two couples look at the house today and both are very, very interested.

Getting rid of the Explorer was like giving away and old dog or something. We have had that vehicle since 1999. It is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. In 10 years I have never had one major issue with it. Changed the oil, tune ups and tires, that is it.

Not much else left to talk about so here is some more Okinawa footage…

Heading Out on Our Okinawa Journey

So it looks like we will be mvoing away on the 24th. Yea, I know, that came pretty quick. It all hinged off the flight windows out of Seattle and LA to Okinawa. Since we are traveling there during the Christmas and New Years holiday season, flights are packed and in a 10 day flight window they could only find us one flight to Seattle in those ten days. We also had a hard time finding a flight to Seattle from Raleigh.

Oh well, the time is upon us and we are almost ready. We have loose ends to tie up here, like make sure utilities and services are ready to shut off when we leave. We would also love to sell our darn house by the time we leave, however, no stress there because I am sure the housing market here is going to pick up in the Spring.

We can’t wait to get back and see the family, haven’t seen Mom and my family in over two years. We are going to be traveling to Indiana first and spending a few days there, then back down to Tennessee to stay with some of Kims family. While I am there I want to take some time to meet up with some old friends from when I was in Indiananpolis. I would also like to meet with some folks I have been dealing with onlin over the last couple years.

Brochin.net is alsmost ready, fixing up some stuff on the backside and I think it will be ready in about 2-4 weeks. The other site I was working on so that fundraisers could make money, now that thing is being a bear. We are over a year in development on the thing. Really a bear!

Drop a line and let us know how your doing these days. You can e-mail us or leave a comment here or drop by Facebook or MySpace.
