This weekend we had to take a big step back and look at how to re-position Brochin.net over the next 2-3 years while we operate primarily online. That said, we are making some major renovations so you will see the homepage down for a while, but the blog is still up. With the new overhaul we will be offering several tutorials, e-books, software and scripts for your small business IT and Telecomm needs.
Â
We hope to have Rhino Articles moved into the Web 2.0 world in the next couple of months. Delays in programming have stalled it. However, once finished you will not see but one or two directories online even similar to it.
Â
We are still working out bugs in the “fund raising alternativeâ€. Phase 1 is almost complete and we should enter Phase 2 within the next month.

I took my oldest son to see the movie Hancock this weekend. I am little disappointed. The first part of the movie was ok, but I did not like how they tried to smash Hancock’s past life into the last 20-30 minutes of the movie. I think they could have used it better and kept the history stuff for a follow-on or sequel.
Â
So basically I came away with a Superman meets the Highlander feeling.
Â
It was a very disappointing weekend, Hancock aside. Our 2 year old English Bulldog turned this weekend and we have to put him down. I was growing very attached to the darn thing. To top that off the wife told me our two parakeets died this morning too.
Â
Of course we have our other two dogs and the fish.

Our trip to Asheboro North Carolina was very enjoyable. The next morning after visiting the zoo we took a quick trip north to Randleman, North Carolina and took in the Richard Petty museum. For racing fans this is a must see. It is a nice little museum containing pictures, trophies, real cars actually used in races and even The King’s personal collection of various memorabilia. It ALMOST had me interested in watching racing again.
Â
We then took a trip to the Asheboro regional airport where we took in the Aviation museum. This was another little hole in the wall that one should visit when in the area. As a history buff and military service member it was a good little history lesson on military aviation and aviation in general.
Â
We ended the day hanging out in the pool at the Hampton Inn where we stayed. The boys really enjoyed the time and Gavin really loved it.
Â
The next morning we headed home, but stopped just south of Asheboro to visit some of the pottery shops. I also recommend you stop at a few of these as well. The work that goes into these pieces and the looks are sometimes amazing.

The family is in Asheboro North Carolina for an early weekend. We needed some time alone together as a family. We have had people in and out of the house for almost a month straight and just needed to get away, especially Kim.
Anyway we arrived here this morning and went to the NC Zoo. Amazing Zoo, but you better bring your walking legs as it has over 5 miles worth of trails. You may also want to get there early in the morning and visit the animal you want to see most first thing. As it gets hotter the animals seem to head for shade and it is harder to see them.
Tommorrow we plan on heading to the Aviation museum and the Richard Petty Museum. Not sure if we are going to hit any place else up, but it is just nice to get away.
On a more “sobering” note. he town of Asheboro is a dry town, so no alcohol is served or sold here. UGHHH!

My in-laws are in town and it is actually enjoyable.
They came in Wednsday. While I worked on Thursday, Herb (father in-law) took Gannon to the beach on base. They broke out the metal detector and walked down the beach. They really didn’t find anything major. However they did find a cross member for a truck. Yea go figure, a cross member for a truck on a beach…hmmm, how did that get there.
Anyway, we went out this morning to do some looking with the detector at a local park then did some fishing, but it was too hot and we came home.
They all just went out earlier to watchthe fireworks, but Im a prude and staying home working on some landing pages for some pay per click advertising campaigns.
