Alan Jackson Gives George Jones His Due

I looked for this video all evening on YouTube and finally found it.

Alan made sure George received his due that the powers that be thought he didn’t deserve. In doing this, Alan gave Country music his modern day version of the Johnny Cash finger.

ENJOY!

Christmas and New Years

I hope everyone’s Christmas and New Years holiday is going well!

Kim’s mom and dad made it down for Christmas and the kids enjoyed their time hanging with mama and papa. The kids made away like bandits and watching them open their presents is a real joy, but anytime I can be home with my kids on a holiday is very enjoyable and I am so thankful for it.

Most of the holidays has just been a laziness fest for me. I haven’t really done anything of significance around the house. We did replace a garbage disposal with papa’s helpand put away the lights, but that is about it.

Christmas break for my class ends next week and I will only have two weeks left, for which I am thankful.

Started watching a good game last night with the Patriots looking for their undefeated season, but could not stay awake. I was so mad at myself because it ended up being a real good game.

Well anyway, until next time take care and have a safe and happy New Year.

Promotions, Fireplaces and Garbage Disposals

This week flew by. I took a couple days off at the beginning of the week to catch up on same things around the house as well as some reading and home work for my class. Speaking of the class, this is my last one and I will be finished with school.

I also found out this week that I was selected for promotion which is a pretty good moral boost and I think it was more of a boost for Kim than it was for me.

Gannon continues to get better by the day with his saxophone. The grandparents are down for the Christmas holiday and he was more than anxious to show off his playing ability.

The week went pretty quick. I converted our gas burning fireplace into a good ole’ wood burning fireplace, but of course the weather warmed up and we haven’t used it much the last two days. I will be working on installing a new garbage disposal today and tomorrow. Everyone says it should be very easy, but they fail to realize that I am not a handyman.

That’s it for the week…Merry Christmas and may the New Year bring everyone new challenges and joy.

I Am Legend & Christmas Party

This week was fairly uneventful.

I am dragging my tail so bad in my CIS Risk Management class. Typically I am about a week or two ahead on assignments, but since this is my last course I have just become blah..blah…and the burn out has really set in. I just need to get this class over with and I am done.

Gannon and I went to see “I Am Legend” with Will Smith. This movie was not too bad. The action and Will Smith humor kept it interesting. However, the plot is nothing new. If you have seen “28 Days Later” or “28 Weeks Later”, add some humor and special effects and you have “I Am Legend”.

We attended a Christmas party Saturday night and had a very good time. Sunday I had a little headache, but nothing bad.  I was definetly in the Christmas spirit for sure.

MARIJUANA FILLED FIREWOOD

‘Hello, is this the Sheriff’s Office?’

‘Yes. What can I do for you?’

‘I’m calling to report ’bout my neighbor Virgil Smith….He’s hiding’ marijuana inside his firewood!  Don’t quite know how he gets it inside them logs, but he’s hiding’ it there.’

‘Thank you very much for the call, sir.’

The next day, the Sheriff’s Deputies descend on Virgil’s house. They search the shed where the firewood is kept. Using axes , they bust open every piece of wood, but find no marijuana. They sneer at Virgil and leave.

Shortly, the phone rings at Virgil’s house.

‘Hey, Virgil! This here’s Floyd….Did the Sheriff come?’

      ‘Yeah!’

       ‘Did they chop your firewood?’

       ‘Yep!’

       ‘Happy Birthday, buddy!’
