I looked for this video all evening on YouTube and finally found it.
Alan made sure George received his due that the powers that be thought he didn’t deserve. In doing this, Alan gave Country music his modern day version of the Johnny Cash finger.
I hope everyone’s Christmas and New Years holiday is going well!
Kim’s mom and dad made it down for Christmas and the kids enjoyed their time hanging with mama and papa. The kids made away like bandits and watching them open their presents is a real joy, but anytime I can be home with my kids on a holiday is very enjoyable and I am so thankful for it.
Most of the holidays has just been a laziness fest for me. I haven’t really done anything of significance around the house. We did replace a garbage disposal with papa’s helpand put away the lights, but that is about it.
This week flew by. I took a couple days off at the beginning of the week to catch up on same things around the house as well as some reading and home work for my class. Speaking of the class, this is my last one and I will be finished with school.
Â
I also found out this week that I was selected for promotion which is a pretty good moral boost and I think it was more of a boost for Kim than it was for me.
I am dragging my tail so bad in my CIS Risk Management class. Typically I am about a week or two ahead on assignments, but since this is my last course I have just become blah..blah…and the burn out has really set in. I just need to get this class over with and I am done.
Gannon and I went to see “I Am Legend” with Will Smith. This movie was not too bad. The action and Will Smith humor kept it interesting. However, the plot is nothing new. If you have seen “28 Days Later” or “28 Weeks Later”, add some humor and special effects and you have “I Am Legend”.
‘Hello, is this the Sheriff’s Office?’
‘Yes. What can I do for you?’
‘I’m calling to report ’bout my neighbor Virgil Smith….He’s hiding’ marijuana inside his firewood! Don’t quite know how he gets it inside them logs, but he’s hiding’ it there.’
‘Thank you very much for the call, sir.’
The next day, the Sheriff’s Deputies descend on Virgil’s house. They search the shed where the firewood is kept. Using axes , they bust open every piece of wood, but find no marijuana. They sneer at Virgil and leave.
Took the boys out Saturday to Christmas shop for their mom. Now this was a sight I am sure. Looking at womens clothes with the little fellas definetly presented some challenges and received a few weird looks. Why? I don’t know, I just think people are not used to seeing a grown man toting kids around the womens section of the store or shopping in womens’ stores. Oh well, we made it through.
Marines Won’t Move to Afghanistan for Now, Conway Says
By Jim Garamone
American Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON, Dec. 5, 2007 – The idea of Marine units moving into Afghanistan to replace Army units is off the table for now, the commandant of the Marine Corps said here today.
Not really, but those of you that have been through the aggrevation of placing Christmas lights around the house now my pain. Lights that worked perfectly fine last year no longer work. Strands you check before you hang them up checked out fine until you climb up on the ladder, hang them and in the process almost hang yourself, then when you are back on the ground either the entire strand doesn’t work now or a few lights aren’t working. These are the things that turn me into the Grinch.
